Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum is home to many of the best artists to ever grace the Dallas live music scene.

Deep Ellum
From 1920 through the 1930's Deep Ellum was known as the home of Jazz and Blues in the South. Many great artists began their careers in the sleepless streets of Deep Ellum. While the scene converted to an arts district in the 60's and 70's, live music was still prevalent in the area. In the late 80's and 90's Deep Ellum began to thrive as an entertainment district with over 57 bars and nightclubs in operation in 1991. Community leaders such as the Deep Ellum Association presented a unified voice to local politicians leading to improvements in infrastructure and a reduction in crime rates. Today Deep Ellum continues to maintain ties to its rich heritage. Although several businesses have closed due a deteriorating business environment, many restaurants, boutiques, live music venues, art galleries and clubs have weathered the storm and have refused to let this neighborhood fall. So come out and support Deep Ellum and see what we have to offer!
